Does the MiCA register include every crypto company in Europe?

No. It lists only firms authorised under MiCA (CASPs, ART issuers and EMT issuers in the ESMA file) and entities flagged as non-compliant by a national competent authority. Firms that never applied, withdrew, or only held a pre-MiCA national VASP registration do not appear. A missing name is not proof of anything; confirm with ESMA or the home NCA.

Does a CASP licence include an EMI or PSP licence?

No. E-money institution (EMI) and payment institution (PSP) licences are separate national authorisations under the payments framework, with their own home state and passporting. What does it mean if a company is on the non-compliant list?

Accepted Answer

The non-compliant list records entities that a national competent authority has flagged for breaching MiCA requirements, including unauthorised provision of crypto-asset services or revocation. Use it in counterparty due diligence before contracting.

Does a CASP licence include passporting across the EEA?

Accepted Answer

Yes. A CASP authorised in one EEA home member state can passport services to other member states under MiCA. Entity pages show passporting host-state counts where ESMA publishes them.
